Learn some of the nuts and bolts of community organizing by signing up and attending "Face to Face: Organizing for the Long Haul." This daylong series of organizing workshops is being held March 23, 2004, (check out the Events Calendar page on OVECs website) at John XXIII Pastoral Center, 100 Hodges Rd., Charleston, WV.

Workshop sessions include basic organizing skills, base-building, coalition-building, using popular education techniques in community organizing, use of the media, building a campaign strategy and peace-building. This invitation is being extended to labor, faith-based, people of color, environmental, community, university, peace and other groups.

The Appalachian Institute at Wheeling Jesuit University and the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition are co-sponsoring this one-day event, featuring nationally known organizer/musician, Si Kahn.
