WHAT: The West Virginia Environmental Council’s 17th Annual Fall Conference: “Grassroots Action for the Future”

WHEN: Friday, October 14 ~ Sunday October 16, 2005
WHERE: Camp Frame, Hedgesville WV (near Berkeley Springs)
DETAILS: The conference is the largest gathering of the year by this statewide environmental organization. Several groups and sustainable businesses participate, and the conference draws environmentally conscious individuals from around the state and region.
HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday evening Keynote Speaker: Senator John Unger (D) of Martinsburg WV, Presentations: “Overview on Alternative Fuels” by Bill McGlinchey - AFV International, LLC and “Alternative Energy” by Allan Tweddle. Workshops will be offered on issues such as, Air Quality, Land Preservation, Clean Elections, Protecting the Monongahela National Forest, Sustainable Energy, Medicinal Herbs, Stream Monitoring, Lobbying 101, and more. Alternative vehicles, including hybrids and a “veggie car” that runs on vegetable oil will be on display. Several Excursions to area natural attractions are offered. A variety of booths by sustainable businesses, artists, natural healthcare and environmental groups are participating throughout the weekend.
