What is OVEC?
The Ohio Valley Environmental
Coalition is a nonprofit organization. OVEC's mission statement:
Our mission is to organize and maintain a diverse grassroots
organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation
of the environment through education, communication, and
leadership development.
Our operative area
encompasses much of West Virginia and portions of southern
Ohio and eastern Kentucky. The structure of OVEC is a common
one: members, board of directors with officers, and staff
members. What is uncommon is the committed participation
of many ordinary citizens in OVEC, united for the common
purpose of conserving the environment in which we all live.
Our office is located
on Fourteenth Street West in Huntington, West Virginia .
Our mailing address is Post Office Box 6753, Huntington,
West Virginia 25773-6753. The telephone number is 304-522-0246.
Three full-time staff members work flexible schedules
for they are involved with many activities outside of the
office. Often one of them is available during the day.
OVEC's board of directors
is active.
If you are interested
in becoming a member of OVEC, please fill out our on-line
