Maria and her dog Toby drive up to Lindytown in March 2009. Mountaintop removal coal mining will soon drive Lindytown into extinction.

What help keeps every hard-working person going, despite sometimes overwhelming grief over the result of human greed? Friendship and a sense of humor sure help.
