| We set off for that green patch where Stover Cemetery lies. Everything you see used to be the life-sustaining mixed mesophytic forests and its biologically-crucial headwater streams. Scientists have catalogued over 1,000 species of plants in nearby Kanawha State Forest. Once this area is "reclaimed" we'll be lucky to have a dozen species of plants, most if not all, non-native. And the streams that ran here will be forever buried. |
