Appalachian Citizens Law Center, Inc.

The Appalachian Citizens Law Center provides free legal services to Appalachian coalfi eld residents who are adversely affected by the coal industry. The Center's three areas of work are: 1) mine safety employment matters on behalf of miners who were fi red or retaliated against for complaining of unsafe work conditions; 2) environmental justice problems involving the impact of coal mining, logging, and oil and gas drilling; and 3) occupational lung disease claims of coal miners and issues involving the administration of the federal black lung program. The Center operates as a small, non-profi t law fi rm, and the Center's attorneys work on behalf of individuals and groups on cases involving issues in these three areas.
