Getting The MLK
March Info Straight
The
Story of Jack Spadaro
Stand
Up on Jan. 20
Note Correct Time to Join MLK, Jr. March
Ok, I double-apologize for the mistakes with the MLK, Jr. march info. We
had been looking at a website about the march from 2004. Duh. Here is
the correct information (you can verify by clicking
here, for an article which contains info on the march and
other events commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.): Please Join
OVEC on Monday, Jan. 17 as we participate in the traditional march
honoring Dr. King. The march leaves at 4:45 p.m. from
the Ebenezer Community Outreach Center, 1660 8th Ave., Huntington, W.
Va. We march to the Fifth Avenue
Baptist Church, in time for the 6 p.m. 12th Annual Martin Luther King,
Jr. Symposium Memorial Service.
Ken Hechler has a great column in today's Charleston Gazette:
King was an inspiration in the fight for democracy.

Under Mined: The Story of Jack
Spadaro
See the Jan.-Feb. 2005 issue of
Washington Monthly for a story by Clara Bingham:
Under Mined: When a flood of toxic mining sludge
wreaked havoc in Appalachia, how did the White House respond? By letting
the coal company off the hook and firing the whistleblower. The
print version (which we haven't seen yet) apparently has 10
photos supplied by OVEC.
