Help in Voting
Find your polling place online, or help others find their polling places, by clicking here. Or call 1-866-MYVOTE1.

Dedicate These Last Few Days To Helping Get Voters To The Polls
If you are in the Huntington area, call Scott at 304-522-0246 to assist with OVEC's Get Out The Vote efforts. If you are in the Charleston area, call Mountain State Education and Research Foundation at 346-8928.  I have made about 75 calls so far for MSERF, and it has fun and easy! I kid you not.
No Matter Where You Are, Help Get Out The Vote!
True Majority says, "The absolute best, most effective way to ensure that newly registered voters actually make it to the polls is to knock on their doors or call them. ...we've created a way for everyone to help make those calls to these new voters right from the comfort of your home and on your schedule."  Click here to get a list of five people to call. It's easy and rewarding, even.  Just in case the link doesn't work, here's the url to cut and past into your web browser: http://www.votercall.org/register/.  The VoterCall system is supported by civicactions.com, whom you can reach at info@civicactions.com or by calling (510) 684-3180 if you have any problems that FAQ page at www.votercall.org/faqs.htm does not answer.

Today, Saturday Is Last Day To Vote Early
From "How do I vote if ... " in today's Charleston Gazette You can still vote early, even though it is Saturday. Every county courthouse in West Virginia is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for the last day of early voting.  If you don't have your voter's registration card, call your county clerk’s office to find out where your polling place is: Kanawha County Clerk — 357-0130; Putnam County Clerk — 586-0202; Fayette County Clerk — 574-4225. Or call Mountain State Centers for Independent Living at 1-866-687-8245 from anywhere in the state. This nonpartisan group can tell you where your polling place is.  (If you don't have your voter registration card, when you go to vote you should bring picture I.D. with you, or a piece a mail, such as an utility bill, to prove you live at your address.)

Election Day Tips From Working Assets

-- Bring a picture ID. Many states have new identification requirements this year, so play it safe by bringing your drivers license or other official ID if at all possible.

--Go to the correct polling place. Many polling places have changed since the last election, and in some states, your provisional ballot will not be counted if you go to the wrong polling place. So check your polling place ahead of time by calling your local election office or reviewing your sample ballot.

--Call 1-866-OUR VOTE if you experience or witness a voting emergency. Lawyers will be standing by to provide free, immediate, on-the-spot assistance.

--Remember, you have the right to vote if you are in line before the polls close, no matter how long it takes.
