As the articles above so clearly point out, campaign finance reform is exceedingly important to environmental work. Special interest money is corrupting the democratic process. The Clean Elections Act would help begin reforming the system.

Join Us Oct. 19: Refinery Work Again
Ashland Inc., Catlettsburg refining LLC and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet are holding a public meeting. The public is invited to attend a Public Meeting/Public Availability Session at the Old Post Office and Federal Building, 25th and Broadway, Catlettsburg, Kentucky on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be to update the public on all of the environmental matters including remedial activities currently underway or planned at the Catlettsburg Refinery related to Agreed (Court) Order Number DOW-19635-056. Carpools leave from the OVEC office at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19. Please call the office, 304-522-0246, for details.
