May 24 Moving Mountains CD Release Party Camp Wellstone Training Program in Charleston If you didn't take advantage of early voting, you still, of course, have Tuesday to vote. You can find out where candidates stand on Clean Elections by clicking here. Scroll down for written comments from the candidates. WV Citizen Action Group has a list of CAG-endorsed candidates posted here. Also please see information from the "Every Child Matters in West Virginia" voter education campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to help voters make informed choices about candidates and put children front and center of election conversations. See the results of the project's gubernatorial candidate survey. Go to www.everychildmatters.org and click on the West Virginia button. Why vote? Why be an activist? Bill Moyers, in a June 4, 2003 speech at the Take Back America conference said: It's just a fact: Democracy doesn't work without citizen activism and participation, starting at the community. Trickle down politics doesn't work much better than trickle down economics. It's also a fact that civilization happens because we don't leave things to other people. What's right and good doesn't come naturally. You have to stand up and fight for it-as if the cause depends on you, because it does. Allow yourself that conceit-to believe the flame of democracy will never go out as long as there's one candle in your hand. (Click here for the full speech) MOVING MOUNTAINS CD RELEASE PARTY WITH MUSIC We have the date and venue for the first of several "Moving Mountains" CD Release Parties!
