Resources for your last chance to comment on the mountaintop removal Environmental Impact Statement.

New Year's greetings! Here's to us working together for some environmental sanity in 2004!

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Jan. 21 is the deadline (extended from Jan. 6) to comment on the mountaintop removal Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Please visit OVEC's homepage for links to various groups' EIS action pages. (See below for a list of groups who have EIS action pages.) The newest action center up is on the Care 2 petition page.  Click on "Limit the Destruction Caused By Mountaintop Removal Mining."

The list of national groups that are appalled by mountaintop removal continues to grow! You have been a part of helping to raise awareness about mountaintop massacre, and, with your continued efforts, you will help bring about the end of this ecocidal coal mining practice.

Please encourage your friends to send in comments too! With the on-line resources, it's really easy to take this action.

If you need a reminder of why it is so important to comment, be sure to look at the photos in our on-line mountaintop removal gallery. If you would like a link to a set of photos depicting the destruction to one family's property caused by just one valley fill near the town of Bob White in Boone County, WV, reply to this e-mail with "Bob White" in the subject line.
