OVEC Action Alert - March 03, 2003

Apologies for the bunch-o-alerts these last few days...but remember the WV legislative session is in it's last crazed week.

TODAY AND TOMORROW

Please ramp up the calls on overweight coal trucks! I made all the calls below, using the direct numbers. In every case, but one, I got answering machines. I left my name, and my request that they NOT vote to increase the weight limits on coal trucks. It took me less than ten minutes to make all the calls. Please make the calls if you can, and please remember to be courteous when you call. And, please share this message with friends.

Below is a list of Delegates who need to hear from us. Besides their offices numbers, you can also reach them by calling toll free, 1-877-565-3447, and asking for each by name. Kevin Craig 304-340-3118 Dan Foster--(Doctor) 304-340-3135 Lidella Hrutkay (please use 877 number above) James Morgan 304-340-3123 Corey Palumbo 304-340-3143 Tim Armstead 304-340-3124 Ann Calvert 304-340-3378 Rusty Webb 304-340-3157 We need to let each one know we don't want a weight increase.

TOMORROW

Tuesday, March 4 Rally Against Overweight Coal Trucks at noon outside the Governor's Office (inside the State Capitol).

We need you there! On Friday the Senate passed a bill that will raise the weight limit on coal trucks to 126,000 pounds. We still have a chance to stop this horrible bill (SB 583) in the House. Coal has big trucks and well-paid lobbyists to get its message out. We need you, the people who are being asked to pay $2.8 billion for road repairs, and who are endangered by these trucks, to come out and rally against this bill! Please forward this e-mail to your friends and ask them to come tomorrow.
