OCT. 30, 3-4 p.m. CALL-IN: IS DEVELOPMENT HURTING OUR COMMUNITIES?

From www.wvpubcast.org/radio/.  Floods ... mining & timbering practices ... mountain top removal: Necessary for economic survival or ruining our way of life? What kind of development is appropriate? Who should decide? Must environmentalists & developers always be at odds? Tune in to your local WV Public Radio station at 3 p.m. for call-in info.

Oct. 31, BUSH AT CHARLESTON CIVIC CENTER

OVEC has received several e-mails and calls wondering what to do about the Bush visit. Bush is to speak at 7:15 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center. We have word that folks are carpooling in to picket outside the Civic Center, probably beginning at 6 p.m. We don't have the details on where exactly people will stand, but the pickets shouldn't be hard to find. E-mail back if you want more details, which we will forward as they become available.
