Attention Coalfield Residents:Next Wednesday, Aug. 21 (or Thursday, Aug. 22 in case of bad weather on Wed.) aides representing U.S. Senators Lieberman and Jeffords will fly over mountaintop removal sites with Southwings. The airplane will leave from the Washington, DC area (Manassas, Virginia). The pilot will take the aides over the southern West Virginia coalfields, then stop in Hazard, Kentucky, for lunch and a meeting with coalfield residents. The plane then returns to Virginia. There is a seat on the plane for ONE West Virginia coalfield resident. If you want to be the person on this trip, contact Dave at the OVEC office, 304-522-0246. You’d have to stay overnight in the DC area Tuesday night, as well as a drive to and from DC. OVEC can help with trip expenses.
