OVEC Action Alert - June 30, 2002

OVERWEIGHT COAL TRUCKS--CALL IN TONIGHT

Folks, I just received a call from our good friend former Secretary of State Ken Hechler. He's going to be on WCHS Talk Radio, Stephen Reed's show, between 8 and 9 p.m. tonight speaking on the overweight coal truck issue.

WCHS Radio is 5800 on the AM dial, at least in the Charleston area. The call in number is 304-345-5858. Please call-in to voice your opinion on the "greased" panel that wants to continue to sacrifice the safety of coalfield residents, and continue to kowtow to coal industry by almost doubling the current weight limit for coal trucks.

Please spread the word among your Charleston-area friends.

Ken suggests calling your Delegates and Senators to tell them you will be watching them during the interims to see if they support the proposed increase on coal truck weight limits.

To find your legislators' contact information, go to http://www.legis.state.wv.us/legishp.html.
