Free Home Cooked Food! (June 13 Stop MTR Meeting Reminder) Hey all you super Stop MTR activists—you deserve a home cooked meal before our next meeting! Two good cookin' volunteers have offered to fix the fixin's, including homemade bread, ratatouille and vegetarian lasagna. The June 13 dinner is at 6 p.m. sharp, discussion at 7 p.m. sharp at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 501 Elizabeth St., Charleston, WV (just down the street from Empty Glass). We'll brainstorm and discuss our post-Haden-decision strategy to end mountaintop removal.

Name The Newsletter Contest We've been getting some great suggestions for changing the name of our printed newsletter, which is now called "E-Notes." Keep 'em coming! Please send your suggestions to vivian@ohvec.org by the end of June. If we choose your entry as our new name, you'll win an OVEC 2002 Treehuggers’ Ball T-shirt. Still Time To Write On Valley Fills If you haven’t yet sent in your comments for the Congressional Hearing record on the Bush administration’s change to the Clean Water Act’s definition of "fill," there is still time—the deadline for comments to be submitted for inclusion in the written record is June 19.

Thank Judge Haden Please Take a moment to thank Judge Haden for his courage in upholding the Clean Water Act by blocking the Army Corps of Engineers from permitting most valley fills at mountaintop removal operations.
